M•A•C Electro Flash Collection Mineralize Eye Shadow Pink Split

I’m adoring the Mineralize Eye Shadow from Electro Flash Collection 2008! Each cost USD$17.50, and weight 2.2g. Before looking at the actual product I thought I’d like to have the pink ones, the black one, the silver, the blue and also the purple.
(from left to right, top to bottom)
Fresh Green Mix: Golden olive with blue, gold and acqua veining/Lime mono
I do not fancy green, skipped.
Pink Split: Dirty rose with bronze and pale blue veining/Pink with gold pearl mono
I’m lacking of pink colors and the dirty rose sounds very appealing to me.
Love Connection: Pale beige with gold and blue veining/Warm gold mono
Like this too but the combination seems a little bit dull.
Odd Couple: Warm gold with lavender and bronze veining/Purple mono
The warm gold lining turns me on but I’ve too much similar purple.
Two To Glow: Dirty bronze with pink and orange veining/Orange mono
I always think that it looks similar with Play on Plums.
Polar Opposite: Dirty purple with silver, indigo and pink veining/True silver mono
This one is a favourite, the dirty purple looks very special. I’d love to have it!
Play On Plums: Peachy gold with pink and bronze veining/Bronzed burgundy mono
This combination looks very pretty but to me it isn’t a must have,
Sea & Sky: Silvery pale blue with deep blue and silver veining/Bright blue mono
Love me/Hate me section. Love it after seeing on him, but I don’t think I’ve much chance to rock the super pigmented blue.
Hot Contrast: Dirty red with silver and black veining/Black mono
This is also my Love me/Hate me piece because I thought black was too boring, and it’s quite hard to rock on the burgundy. The dirty burgundy can be very sultry and full of mystery, but I reckon neither do I have the skills nor confidence.
After analyzing and debating which one shoud i get outta the 9 colors in this current limited edition collection, I got the pink split which I thought was good for everyday wear.
I went to a mall near my place and decided to get pink split after testing the colors, but was pissed when the sales assistant informed that I couldn’t choose my piece! What the..?! I can pay but I can’t choose?! I felt so unjustified so I just walked out the store without turning back. But deep down I longing to buy it, use it, adore it…
Having beaten by the big ego I planned to travel a little further to another MAC store this weekend, determined to score this time. But while stroling around a new mall 20km away from my place I saw this newly opened MAC store! I hurried in and search for that piece i adore, and being greeted by a handsome SA. He generously said that I CERTAINLY can pick my piece and proceed to open the drawer. So happy!
Bloated out the store with happiness and scorn at the previous grumpy experience. Enough said let’s take a look at this pretty piece.
It’s such a beauty! Looking at me makes me feel beautiful, a piece of art. Because all mineralize Eye Shadow are handmade therefore each pieces are different. It can be use either wet or dry and it’s made from minerals. There are big shimmers and have great blendability. However the samples that I tested from the counter felt chunky, wonder if mine will be like that in future? Anyway I think pink split’s color keeps it subtle enough for day look plus my stash is lacking of pink members. As you can see the swatches below, the pink is not visible at all. I suppose have to apply it wet, or over eye shadow base to have it appear. I have not tried it on my eyes, but I’m quite confident this will cater for my needs!
Did you catch the sparks of this collection? Which one have you bought?
